The Manager - Edition 108 - A super power
THE MANAGER - BY ROB LAMBERT
Hi,
I hope you are doing very well today and you have had a cracking weekend.
In a slight deviation from the normal newsletter, I wanted to share some exciting news and offer you a special gift for being loyal readers of The Manager.
I have spent the last two weeks creating a new online course. The course is an online version of my award winning Communication Workshop.
It is a text based course delivered through the Leanpub platform. It has 19 lessons including the basics of communication, DISC as a tool for communication, effective writing, non-verbal communication, the 11 principles of effective communication and more.
It's been a labour of love and I do hope it hits the mark.
As readers of The Manager, I'd like to offer you a discount. For the next 2 weeks you will be able to get $10 off the price by using the following coupon link.

This course nearly destroyed me in putting it together but I'm glad I persevered; the platform wasn't as helpful as I first thought, the concept of taking the in-person course and making it online was tricky, and the sheer amount of checking and testing was very time consuming. But it's there and I'm very proud of it.
I wanted the course to be helpful, insightful and practical, but I also didn't want to overwhelm my students. I'm fairly sure I've got it close to right. I've certainly twiddled with the course more than I probably should have. I never realised I was a perfectionist.
If you want to build a super power in the world of work, then this course will help you do that.
Share the love
If you choose to buy the course and get value from it, I would love it if you could share the course to your friends, colleagues, managers and community. After all, it's not just for managers or leaders - it's the basics of communication as I teach it - and it's suitable for all.
If you do want to share it, please share the following link rather than the discount one. The discount is for "The Manager" readers - and I'm still trying to grow my online business :)

Why communication behaviours?
I often joke that 99% the problems in business are communication related - I'm likely not far from the truth. It makes sense then, to learn how to communicate effectively. It's also a great thing for our careers - and of course, if we lead or manage teams - it's great for our people too.
Effective communication behaviours are so rare in our business world, that when we see someone exhibiting these behaviours we are beyond impressed.
And that's the key to being an effective communicator - it's all about behaviours.
That person who deals with conflict with ease has learned the behaviours needed to do that.
That person who wows the crowd from the stage has learned how to do that.
That person who exudes presence in meetings without saying anything - they have learned how to do that.
And we can all learn these behaviours too.
For some, this learning task will come easier, for others, it could be a hard slog, but we can all develop behaviours such as standing strong, keeping eye contact, actively listening, presenting with ease, staying calm under pressure and more.
And the beautiful thing is, when we become great at communicating we learn to respect other people, we can teach and coach others and we can learn to build diverse and effective teams.
With that I wish you a very happy Monday. As usual - some cool links to click on below - and two videos I dropped to YouTube this week.
Until next time.
Take care.
Rob..
