The Manager - Edition 91 - Don't do nothing
THE MANAGER - BY ROB LAMBERT
Hi,
I hope you are doing well and are safe.
With all that’s going on in the world right now, I thought I’d keep this newsletter short and share with you a resource on how to learn more about what is unfolding in American (and the world now) regarding Black Lives Matter, and how we may be able to support change.
I’ve seen racism first-hand towards colleagues. I’ve seen people being treated differently because of their sex, gender, religion, skin colour, size and more.
It's in our work-places. And we must challenge it.
One of my core behaviours from the 10 Behaviours of Effective Employees eBook is Be Brave. Brave to challenge all sorts of poor behaviours that exist in our workplaces.
Marcus Aurelius in Meditations states “And you can also commit injustice by doing nothing”.
When we say nothing about racism in the workplace, we are approving of it – letting it go – supporting it by staying quiet.
In my research on how to learn more, I stumbled across a page containing a wealth of information, so I thought I’d share that. It contains enough reading on the subject to learn more about it.
It does take bravery to stand up for what is right, but it also takes knowledge of what that “right” is. The only way many of us can gain any insights is to listen, read and learn.

Ignore the fact this says it’s for creatives – it’s for everyone.
Until next time.
Rob..
