THE MANAGER - BY ROB LAMBERT
WELCOME
Hi,
I hope you've had a cracking weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead.
I've had a great weekend with the family. A dinner party, football and plenty of relaxed time with family before an action packed week.
This week I've been mostly thinking about communication skills and how to apply them at work. I've included more in the links below.
Have a good one.
Rob..
FOOD FOR YOUR MANAGEMENT BRAIN
- This week's post from me was all about developing your Super Power in the world of work - effective communication skills. Here's the post on my blog about the 11 core elements, and here's a talking-head video on LinkedIn.
- Presenting? Learn every single inch of your talk. Couldn't agree more.
- Wow. 1/3 of Lloyds Bank staff are struggling financially whilst the boss takes home over £6 million.
- I think what surprises me about this article about Amazon knowing what bits of books we like, is the fact that it comes as a surprise that they are tracking it.
- Love this. Want to change? Focus on behaviours not goals.
- Good advice on interviews and owning your job hunting from a software engineer who studied the process and made it work for him.
- Nice interview with Debbie Millman on making time to get stuff done.
- Good article on why you should focus on outcomes and not outputs - and some good points on why it's so hard to do.
Thanks for reading this week's edition of The Manager.
