Did you do good today? Cultivated Management newsletter.
Hi,
Hope you are having a good day.
Did I do some good today?
It's a question I try to ask myself every day. It forms part of my daily journaling practice (which has been tough but worthwhile).
Did you do some good today?
What does that mean? It can mean whatever you want it to mean.
For me I might read that sentence as:
Did I help someone today?
Did I brighten up someone's day?
Did I give advice when asked?
Did I contribute to a success somewhere?
Did I move a project forward?
Did I share anything useful with my readers?
Most managers days need to be filled with goodness - I know mine do. It's easy to get stuck in the mud of delivering work, dealing with challenges or getting stuck in negative conversations and not looking at what good you did.
Asking myself this question every day has helped me to be more positive and to be a better manager.
Feel free to hit "reply" to this email and let me know whether you've had a good day and delivered what you wanted to.
Have a great weekend.
Until next time
Rob..
